Rose petal soap – a DIY surprise for the most special women in our lives

Materials needed:

  • Molding soap base
  • Fresh or dried flowers
  • Soap mold
  • Essential oils
  • Paper or tape to use as wrapping at the end

Production:

  1. If you are using fresh petals, you will need to dry them in the oven at 100 ° C for 1-2 hours. Dried petals have the advantage of retaining their color and shape longer than fresh ones. You have to take a look in the oven from time to time to avoid burning your petals.
  2. Make the softener base into short pieces. Note that the amount of soap needed will vary depending on the size of the soap mold.
  3. Place the soap pieces in a small heatproof bowl. Heat for about 30 seconds, stir the contents and return to the microwave for another 30 seconds. Continue like this until the soap is liquid. In the end, add about thirty drops of essential oil and stir one last time to incorporate it into the soap.
  4. Close the design base with flower petals, then fill the floor with soap and finish with a few more petals on top. Move to chill for 1 to 2 moments while your soap hardens.

Here is your little aromatic gift, ready to be used! Wrap the soaps in pretty colored paper and tie them with a ribbon for a final touch of elegance.

Ice cream soap, not to eat

The second project that we will show you below is a great DIY for you and your kids during the summer days. The little ones tend to get bored during the holidays, so this type of activity will ideally occupy their free time. Plus, it’s super entertaining and easy to do.

Materials needed:

  • Transparent glycerin soap
  • Soap dye
  • Ice cream mold
  • Ice cream sticks
  • Alcohol
  • Spray bottle
  • Microwave oven
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Heat resistant bowl

Production:

  1. Again, your first task is to divide your block of glycerin soap into small cubes that you must then melt in a microwave or a double boiler.
  2. Divide the already liquid soap into three equal parts, pouring each of them into a different container.
  3. Now it’s the turn of your soap dye. The colors are up to you, but in general, and you know this, the more colors, the more flavorful your “ice cream” will appear. Dissolve the dyes in your soap according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If you want to give your soaps a natural scent, this step is the perfect time to do it.
  4. Pour the first layer of colored soap at the bottom of the mold and wait for it to harden before pouring the second layer, which this time will be of a different color. Otherwise, you risk mixing the colors, which will ruin your rainbow soap project. It is at this step that we also wish to use rubbing alcohol. Pour the latter into a spray bottle and spray each of the successive layers of soap on it. What for? This procedure will spare you the appearance of air bubbles and guarantee better adhesion between the layers of soap.
  5. Before the second layer of soap hardens, insert the ice cream stick into it. It would help if you kept it straight and centered while you pour the other layers of soap into the mold. It is an operation that repeats until the molds fill.
  6. Put the mold in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Meantime, heat a little liquid in a pot. Soak the mold briefly in water to allow the ice cream to come out of the mold, and voila.

Do-it-yourself colorful confetti soap

Materials and ingredients needed:

  • Transparent glycerin soap base
  • Felt in various colors
  • Ball-shaped silicone mold
  • Cup, knife, and spoon

Production:

  1. The first thing you need to take care of is making your confetti. To do this, first cut strips of felt and then cut again into tiny colored confetti.
  2. Insulate small blocks of glycerin soap again in your soap base and put these in a paper cup. Set in the microwave, opening and stirring every 10 seconds until the soap liquefies.
  3. Fill half of each compartment of your mold with glycerin soap, then scatter some confetti over them and let them sink into the soap.
  4. Then fill the rest of the contents of the soap mold and put confetti on top again. Allow the soap to harden. There you go, it would also make an excellent gift for your mom or, why not your best friend.
