Peru, the land of the Incas

Peru fascinates travelers with its great biodiversity and its thousand-year-old cultural heritage. I would like to share my experience with everyone who is searching to find out the best places to visit in Peru. I made a private luxury trip to Peru in 2019, my last trip just before the Covid crisis started.

Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is, for sure, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Everyone should visit this architectural genius of the Incas. I took the train Hiram Bingham from Cusco to reach the city of Aguas Calientes, from where I reached the site by bus.

I discovered this amazing architectural masterpiece with the local guide early in the morning. Don’t spent the overnight in the amazing Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, a luxury mountain hideaway, with wonderful views on Machu Picchu.

Cusco

Another must see is certainly the capital of the Incas Cusco, where I spent two full days. The historical center of Cusco and the San Blas neighborhood reflect perfectly the colonial heritage of Spanish conquistadors as well as the wonderful legacy of the Incas.

The second day, we went to discover the archeological sites near Cusco with my private guide. I was very impressed with the genius of the Incas.

The overnight in the hotel of Palacio Nazarenas with wall dating back to the Inca Era was really an authentic and memorable experience. Don’t hesitate to choose this option of accommodation during your stay in Cusco.

Sacred Valley of the Incas

I spent another overnight in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, in the town of Ollantaytambo. The hotel Casa Andina Premium Valle Sagrado, which was reserved for me, was also very nice and comfortable. With the help of my guide, I discovered the impressive Salineras of Maras, as well as the agricultural terraces of Moray with its different microclimates.

Iquitos

I also recommend to everyone to discover also the extraordinary Peruvian Amazon and its wildlife.  At the end of my trip, the local agency offered an outstanding luxury cruise in Iquitos on board of Delfin Amazon Cruises. All the activities organized on the spot were just perfect, especially the unforgettable piranha fishing! The overnight on board was very comfortable and pleasant. Don’t miss this experience once you are in Peru. It is really worth to spend 3 days of your tour admiring the luxuriant forests of Peruvian Amazon. Just enjoy at the same time the first-class services offered by the luxury Delfin I boat.

Peru Exclusive

Peru Exclusive organized the overall trip. It is a serious and reliable local travel agency. Everyone who is looking for a luxury private tour to Peru, it would be certainly the best choice.  They offer different tours but at the same time they personalize their tours, as it was in my case. They have prepared a very nice itinerary for me and it was a great experience I appreciated a lot.

I would certainly organize my next trip to Peru to discover also the Titicaca Lake region, Nazca lines and the Colca Canyon.
